John Cullen, Ph.D.

Dr. John Cullen is a Professor, Huber Chair of Entrepreneurial Studies, and Associate Dean of Graduate Programs at Washington State University (WSU) Carson College of Business.

He has 30 years of experience in management, teaching, research and consulting. Cullen has extensive experience in teaching and research in numerous countries including Japan, Korea, Taiwan, France, Germany, and the Netherlands. He has lived in Japan, France, and Germany during his academic career.

Cullen’s passion for international business started in the 1980s when, as a Fulbright scholar, he worked with leading Japanese researchers studying nature of managing successful international joint ventures. Most recently, he spent two years as Professor of Strategy at the University of Amsterdam’s Amsterdam Business School teaching international strategy to a diverse group of students from the EU in MBA, Executive MBA, and Masters of Science studies. Training and consulting activities have focused on joint venture management and managing the ethical aspects of organizational culture.

Professor Cullen is also the author of the leading undergraduate textbook in international management and is a Senior Editor of the Journal of World Business. His research appears regularly in the top management publications.
